What is a Waterfall Design Methodology?

The waterfall design model is a sequential development process for waterfall. The process includes the process design, research, architecture, building, testing, production/implementation, and servicing as a steady stream downstream (such as a waterfall).

The waterfall technique is split into a few phases, and each phase relies entirely on the preceding one/s. The previous stage needs to be finished, tested, and accepted before a group can progress to the next level. The approach adds a rigid framework to any of these projects to ensure the maximum productivity, originating in sectors in which the adjustments are too expensive or time-continuous to happen.

The seven stages of waterfall design methodology include:

1. Planning

This is the first phase of the methodology. It begins with an idea and a necessary review of the proposal, its mean value, and its strengths.

2. Commencement

The project management team is recruited after the proposal is developed and aims, scale, intent, and outcomes established.

3. Selection and review of requirements

In this phase, a design analysis is done for the project and recorded in the specifications report.

4. Design

The parameters for design are developed, reviewed, and assessed to clarify the final result and the measures taken to accomplish them.

5. Application / Development

Program coding finally starts in this step. Throughout this process, all development plans are enforced.

6. Testing of the project

Checks are carried out once the programming is finished. Testing helps ensure that no mistakes are made until the user gets the program. There will also be an additional consumer acceptance test during the checks. The goal is to help users distribute the app to the audiences.

7. Maintenance

This process depends on consumers reflecting on more problems in the real world. Based on the feedback, the programming team fixes and modifies the program.

Note: For each production phase, a timeline must be established with deadlines, and a prototype must progress one-by-one through the process template stages.
